Hamas leader among five martyred in Israeli airstrike at Gaza’s hospital

Palestinian medical staff and Hamas said an Israeli air strike at a Gaza hospital on Sunday, including Hamas’ political leaders.

The Gaza Ministry of Health said the strikes attacked the surgical department of Khan Yunis Nasser Hospital.

Hamas said that member of its political office, Ismail Barhoum, was marred. Hamas’ Al-Aqsa TV said Barhoum was treated in the hospital for the wounds in the previous attack.

Two months after relatively calm in the war, the Gazas once again fled their lives after Israel effectively abandoned the ceasefire and launched a new full-blown air and ground campaign against Hamas on Tuesday.

Hamas previously said that another Hamas leader, Salah Al-Bardaweel, was marred in another strike by Khan Younis.

According to Hamas sources, Bardaweel and Barhoum are both members of Hamas’ decision-making body, the political office, with 11 people having been rioting since the war began in the second half of 2023.

Earlier Sunday, Israeli planes attacked targets in the areas, with witnesses saying the explosion hitting the entire northern, central and southern Gaza Strip, which witnesses said was an escalation of the attacks that began earlier this week.

Gaza’s Ministry of Health reported on Sunday that the death toll of the Ministry of Health has exceeded 50,000 since the start of the conflict with Israel in October 2023, with at least 50,021 people suffering from mars.

The ministry also noted that 113,274 people were injured in the ongoing war.

Although these figures have not been independently verified, the death toll exceeds 50,000, according to Gaza Civil Defense Agency. However, the United Nations believes that the Ministry of Health’s data is reliable.
