Kingston: U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio acknowledged that including a reporter in a group military chat about the air strike was a “big mistake” and promised reforms to prevent it from happening again.

“Obviously, someone made a mistake – someone made a big mistake. There is no objection to journalists, but you shouldn’t be in that matter.”

“I think there will be reforms and changes, so that will never be – so this will not happen again,” he said.

Rubio did not blame the blame, but quickly pointed out that he only participated in the chat twice – once assigned deputies and then congratulated the U.S. military after publicly announcing a strike in Yemen.

Atlantic editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg said he was accidentally joined by national security adviser Mike Waltz to chat with commercial application signals, while Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth disclosed the strike plan through it.

Rubio repeated the Trump administration’s assertion: “At any time, there is no information that threatens the actions or lives of our military personnel.”

Information released by the Atlantic showed that the decision to crack down on Houthi rebels was different, with Vice President JD Vance saying that the United States once again “rescued” Europe, which was more affected by the destruction of the Red Sea transport by the insurgents.

Hegseth agreed in the exchange that “European Liberty” is “tragic.”

Asked about his reaction as a top U.S. diplomat, Rubio appeared to support the strike.

“I think what I’m going to say is not, we’re going to get someone to pay. It’s (that’s) everyone should recognize that we’re going to be a huge help to these guys because that can’t continue.”
