Bangkok: Rescuers released a woman from the ruins of a hotel in Myanmar, killing about 2,000 people three days after a huge earthquake as searchers in Myanmar and Thailand competed for time but competed with time to find more survivors, rescuers said Monday.
The woman was pulled out of rubble after being trapped in the collapsed Ayutthaya hotel in Mandalay City after five hours of operation, according to the Facebook Post of the Chinese Embassy. It said she was in steady state early Monday.

On Monday, first responders used cranes and dog sniffers to continue desperately searching for 76 people in the collapsed rubble of the buried skyscraper.
Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt said that while traditional propaganda windows can bring people to a quick approach, rescuers did not give up.
“The search will continue even after 72 hours, because in Türkiye, people who have been trapped for a week have survived. The search has not been cancelled yet,” Chadchart said.
He said the machine scan of the rubble showed that there were still people below who were still alive and were dispatching dog sniffers to try to find out where they were.
“We found weak life signals and there are many attractions,” he said.
Official death toll in Thailand is around 18 on Sunday, but more rescues can be fired on collapsed construction sites.
