Washington: U.S. Vice President JD Vance will travel to Greenland on Friday and visit with his wife Usha, which is growing pressure from Donald Trump, who re-pushed our control over the autonomous Danish autonomous territory.

Vance has become Trump’s attack dog on foreign policy matters, says he will visit our space force members there, but also “check Greenland’s security.”

“This Friday, Usha’s visit to Greenland was so exciting that I decided I didn’t want her to have a good time herself, so I’m going to join her.”

His announcement exerted “unacceptable pressure” just hours later, amid Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen’s visit to criticize the Second Lady of the United States.

The White House earlier announced that Usha Vance will visit Greenland from Thursday to Saturday to compete in the Greenland Dog Racing on the northwest coast of Sisimiut.

Since returning to power in January, Trump insisted that he wanted the United States to take over Greenland for national security purposes and refused to exclude the use of force.

Vance said in his video announcement that other countries tried to use the territory to “threat the United States, threaten Canada, and of course threaten the people of Greenland.”

Trump also recently talked about the annexation of Canada, saying it should become the “51st state” of the United States.

“Speaking for President Trump, we want to revive the safety of the people of Greenland,” Vance added.

He added that both our and Denmark leaders “ignore Greenland for too long” and “we think we can move in a different direction.”

According to Greenland’s outgoing Prime Minister Mute Egende, U.S. National Security Adviser Mike Waltz will also visit Greenland this week, while U.S. media reports that Energy Secretary Chris Wright will also travel there.

According to Greenland media, the dog’s race was mainly sponsored by the US Consulate in Nuuk.

The visit angered Danish and Greenland politicians.

“You can’t organize private visits with an official representative from another country,” Frederiksen told reporters.

The visit was during the political situation in Greenland, after the March 11 election, the parties were still negotiating to form a new coalition government.

Greenland is an autonomous Danish territory that is seeking to liberate itself from Copenhagen, but still has a large amount of unexplored mineral and oil reserves, despite the ban on oil and uranium exploration.

It is also strategically located between North America and Europe, in the period of interest in the Arctic in the United States, China and Russia, and the sea lanes are open due to climate change.
