Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy attended a joint press conference with President of the European Council Antonio Costa (not shown) in Russia’s attack on Ukraine, Ukraine, December 1, 1224.

After a telephone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump, Ukraine is ready to agree that if Russia sticks to the deal, the party that sticks to the deal can agree to a local ceasefire about energy targets.

The Ukrainian president also said his country would respond friendly if Moscow violated the terms of the ceasefire.

Zelenskiy has spoken with Donald Trump for the first time since speaking with U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday, and Zelenskiy said Kyiv will develop a list of facilities that could be subject to a partial ceasefire facilitated by Washington.

He said the list includes not only energy, but railways and port infrastructure, and Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke to Trump and agreed to stop attacks on the energy infrastructure.

“I know, until we reached a consensus (with Russia) and until there was a document on a partial ceasefire, I think everything would fly,” Zelensky said.

The Ukrainian leader looked tired when talking to reporters in an online briefing, describing his call with Trump as “probably his most substantial and positive conversation”, adding that he was not feeling stressed.

The readings contrast sharply with the stimulating optics of Zelenskiy’s last meeting with Trump on February 28, in order to get them to sign a mineral deal, but rather a spiral shout.

Asked in the briefing whether he still hopes Trump visits Ukraine, Zelenskiy said he did and he thought it would be helpful for the U.S. president to stop the war.

Zelenskiy said Ukrainian and U.S. officials could meet in Saudi Arabia on Friday, Saturday or Sunday to discuss technical details.

The Ukrainian leader said he wanted to understand how to monitor a partial ceasefire, although he added that it would be successful if the U.S. intends to do so.

Trump advised Zelenskiy that the United States could help run, and might even have nuclear power plants and energy infrastructure in Ukraine, an earlier statement from the U.S. presidential administration said.

Zelenskiy said he and Trump discussed the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in southeastern Ukraine only when they called.

He added that he told Trump that Kiev would be ready to discuss our participation in modernization and investment in nuclear power plants if it is returned to Ukraine.

Zelenskiy said he believed Putin would disagree with a complete ceasefire, while Ukrainian troops remained in the Kursk region in western Russia.

Kyofu’s troops sparked a surprise invasion in the region last August, but have since been pushed back to a small portion of the land during a multi-stage operation in Russia.

Zelenskiy also said Ukraine received new supplies of several F-16 fighter jets, but he refused to say exactly how many times or when delivery occurred.
