Taif is a picturesque valley famous for its fertile gardens and mountainous terrain in Saudi Arabia, about 40 miles from Mecca, and has a special place in Islamic history.
The city is known as the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) where the city is facing difficulties while conveying the message of Islam. Despite facing persecution from local tribes, he showed excellent patience and compassion by praying for the people rather than seeking retribution.
Among the famous historical sites in Taif is the Masjid Abbas, located near the wall of the old Taif, and after inviting the Arab chiefs to Islam, the Prophet (PBUH) was hurt by a group of young people.
When Angel Jibreel (AS) seeks permission to smash the city between mountains, the Prophet (PBUH) refuses and prays for its people. Today, the site has transformed into a bustling market featuring scenic sidewalks, restaurants and leisure facilities.
Visitors can explore traditional Arab cultures, including ancient family practices, in a modern setting that preserves the city’s heritage.

Taf also plays a crucial role in Saudi Arabia’s agricultural sector. One of its main attractions is the famous Kurash Rose Factory established by the Quran tribe.
Factory owner Mohannad Al-Quraishi revealed that his father, Rashid Al-Quraishi, began farming in 1989 and established the factory in 1996.
Initially, the factory used traditional methods to extract rose essences, producing perfumes, creams and lotions for royal and government gifts.

But under the crown prince of Mohammed bin Salman’s vision for 2030, Saudi Tourism Representative Imad Kashmiri confirmed that the plant’s products will now be supported through financial and technical support, including the installation of a new production plant.

In the winter, Taif’s beauty reaches its peak, attracting visitors to lush green mountains, restaurants, cafes and entertainment venues.
With its long history, amazing landscapes, entertainment and the fragrant Quraish Rose Factory, Taif remains a major attraction for tourists exploring Saudi Arabian cultural and natural heritage.
