Israel kills more than 70 in predawn attacks on Gaza’s north, south

Israel has at least 71 Palestinians, including women and children, in the northern and southern parts of the territory, killed in the pre-dawn attack.

The latest killings will increase the death to about 436 Palestinians from the Gaza Ministry of Health, including 183 children, since Israel destroyed the ceasefire on Tuesday.

Palestinian mission to the United Nations calls for “the international community to act urgently” to end the Israeli reattack on Gaza, which has killed at least 436 Palestinians, including 183 children, since Tuesday.

“This ruthless, illegal use of civilians without defense must be stopped immediately,” it said in a statement.

It added that “failure to act” against Israel “blatant war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide will further undermine any credibility that the Security Council may still encounter”.

Hamas condemned the Deir El-Balah building used by Israel against foreign workers at UN agencies, which led to the killing of an international employee and five more employees.

“This crime is not only a blatant violation of international humanitarian law, but is part of the occupation’s systematic policy to target civilians and aid workers, aiming to enable them to intimidate and prevent them from fulfiling their humanitarian obligations to our people, further deepening the already catastrophic humanitarian crisis,” the group said in a statement.

“We call on the international community and its institutions to take a clear and decisive position against this heinous crime, condemn the fascist behavior of the terrorist Netanyahu government and work seriously to be responsible for its crimes against humanity,” the statement added.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan discussed the latest situation in Gaza on a phone call with Hamas, an official from the Palestinian group Hamas, on Wednesday.

French President Emmanuel Macron said on Wednesday that he spoke with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, two leaders condemned Israel’s strike against Gaza.

Macron said they will co-chair on a two-state solution, aiming to “help restore political views of Israel and Palestinians.”

Macron also said he welcomed the Crown Prince’s Jeddah initiative, which brought peace talks in Ukraine to begin.
