Israel continues attacks on Gaza on second day of Eid ul Fitr

Israeli troops continued to attack Palestinians on the second day of Eid al-Fitr, killing at least nine people, including many children.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) has recovered the bodies of 15 emergency workers a week after their vehicles were criticized from Israeli forces near Rafa, southern Gaza.

A spokesman for the Israeli military has issued a new forced displacement order for the southern city of Rafa, warning that soldiers will soon “resume fierce combat operations” there.

Avicay Adraee said in an article on X that people in Rafah and nearby areas near Nassr and Ash-Shawka should immediately flee to Al-Mawasi.

Israel’s Army Radio described the order as “the most extensive evacuation since the resumption of combat.”

In an article on X, Jonathan Whittall, head of the Palestine United Nations OCHA, described the Israeli fires against fleeing civilians when he and others headed to South Gaza to find missing medical personnel, and Israeli troops were killed in Rafa.

“On the fifth day we were traveling to the area, we encountered hundreds of civilians fleeing gunfire,” Whittle wrote. “We witnessed a woman being shot in the back of her head. He was also shot when a young man tried to retrieve her. We were able to recover her body using a UN vehicle.”

He also posted videos of the shooting, showing at least two people falling to the ground during the sound of gunfire. “One gun, another gun, another gun, another gun,” said one person.
