New York: U.S. President Donald Trump is facing new protests in various U.S. cities, as thousands of protesters go against his tough policies on the streets.

In New York, people gather outside the city’s main library, carrying signs against the US president, with slogans such as “King of the United States” and “Resistance to Tyranny.”

Many have targeted Trump’s deportation of undocumented immigrants, shouting “No ice, no fear, immigrants are welcome here”, a reference to the role of immigration and customs law enforcement agencies in rounding up immigrants.

In Washington, protesters expressed concerns about Trump’s threat to long-standing constitutional norms, including due process rights.

Benjamin Douglas, 41, told the White House that the government is conducting direct attacks on the idea of the rule of law and that the government should limit the abuse of the idea of people living in the United States. ”

Douglas, wearing Keffiyeh with a sign, demanded the release of Mahmoud Khalil, a pro-Palestine student protester who was arrested last month, said the individual was selected to “verify” test cases to keep xenophobia and erosion legal protections long-standing.

“We are in danger,” said Kathy Valy, a 73-year-old New York protester, the daughter of the Holocaust survivor.

“One thing is that Trump is stupider than Hitler or other fascists,” she said. “He is playing football … his own team is split.”

“Science is ignored”

Daniella Butler, 26, said she wanted to “pay particular attention to government funding for science and health work.”

While studying her PhD in Immunology at Johns Hopkins University, she held a map of Texas covered with attractions, referring to the ongoing measles outbreak.

Trump’s health chief Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

“When science is ignored, people die,” Butler said.

In Texas, a very conservative Texas state, the coastal city of Galveston, saw a small number of anti-Trump protesters.

“This is my fourth protest, and usually I will sit down and wait for the next election,” said 63-year-old writer Patsy Oliver. “We can’t do it now. We’ve lost too much.”

On the West Coast, hundreds of people gathered on the beaches in San Francisco to clarify the term “impulse + delete”, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Others nearby held upside-down American flags, traditionally a symbol of distress.

Organizers hope to capitalize on Trump’s immigration crackdown, drastic cuts on government agencies and a strong cut in a lasting campaign to push universities, news media and law firms.

The chief organizer of Saturday’s protests – Group 50,501, representing 50 protests and a campaign in 50 states – said there were 400 demonstrations.

Its website said the protests were “a quick response to anti-democratic and illegal actions by the Trump administration and its wealthy allies” and insisted that all protests were non-violent.

The group called on millions to attend Saturday, although turnout appears to be smaller than the “beat” protests across the country on April 5.
