Florida university shooting leaves one dead, six injured

At least six people were injured Thursday after the Florida State University shooting, and the suspect was detained, according to media reports.

ABC The news quoted several unnamed law enforcement officers and reported that at least one person died.

It is reported that the Student Union Building at the FSU campus in the state capital Tallahassee was reportedly at noon. Students and staff are advised to arrive asylum when police respond. More than 42,000 students attend classes on the main campus.

Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare said in a nearby hospital that it accepted six patients in a statement, one of whom was in critical condition and the rest were in severe condition.

Shortly after the shooting, officers detained a suspect, two law enforcement sources who committed the situation told CNN. The station also reported three guns found. A suspect, one in a nearby car, and a shotgun in the student union.

Law enforcement agencies cannot be contacted immediately to confirm the report or comment.

FBI Director Kash Patel said in an article on X that he briefed the shooting in Florida and a team from the FBI field office is assisting. He added: “We will provide full support to local law enforcement as needed.”

The shooting is the latest deadly gun violence on rock American school campuses in recent years. In 2014, a Florida State graduate opened fire early in the school’s main library, and two students and one employee were injured while hundreds were studying for the exam.
