Former First Lady Michelle Obama spoke about her recent absenteeism over political incidents and marriage troubles, in a podcast released Tuesday.

According to reports CNN.

“I could have made a lot of these decisions a few years ago, but I didn’t give myself freedom, and I wasn’t even as good as I let my kids live their own lives, and I used my own lives as an excuse to do something myself.”

She continued: “It’s gone now. So now I have to look at my – I’m going to look at the calendar I’m doing this year, and it’s a big example of me, and I’m looking at what I should do myself – you know, without a named name, what I choose to do is what suits me best, not what I want to do, not what I want to do, not what I want to do, not what I want to do, not what I want to do, what I want to do, what I want to do, what I want to do.”

Additionally, Michelle specifically skipped Donald Trump’s second inauguration, as well as the state funeral of former President Jimmy Carter in January.

She then went on to discuss the guilt of rejection and how her recent choices could stay away from certain responsibilities, which sparked rumors that her husband, former President Barack Obama, might have divorced.

“I still have time to know, give speeches, do projects around the world, do projects. I still care about girls’ education. You know, the library is open a year from now on. I’m certain things, I’m not doing it in the library.”

She continued: “That’s what we do as women, and I think we’re struggling like disappointing people. I mean so much that this year people are, you know – they can’t even understand that I’m making choices for themselves that they have to assume my husband and I are divorced.”
