Shehbaz, Erdoğan pledge mutual support on national issues



While highlighting the lasting brotherly relations between the two countries, Pakistan and Turkuye reaffirmed their commitment to further deepening bilateral cooperation among various sectors. The resolution was expressed at a meeting between Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Tuesday in Ankara.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of strengthening economic cooperation, especially through joint ventures and bilateral investments.

He highlighted cooperation in the energy and mining sectors, joint ventures in defense and agricultural production, enhanced regional and bilateral connectivity to enhance trade and enhance human-to-person communication and deepen cooperation between AI and trendy technologies such as AI and Cyberia.

During the discussion, both leaders noted the follow-up actions taken on the decision of the Seventh High-Level Strategic Cooperation Committee (HLSCC) held in Islamabad on 13 February 2025. They showed satisfaction with the trajectory of multifaceted bilateral cooperation between brotherly countries.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan also discussed regional and global affairs and reiterated their support on issues of national interests.

The two leaders also expressed deep concern about the humanitarian situation in Gaza, calling for an immediate ceasefire and provide humanitarian assistance to affected people.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan thanked Pakistan for its consistent support for the cause of Palestinian and its humanitarian assistance to Palestine.

Both leaders expressed their commitment to further strengthening the strategic partnership between Pakistan and Turks, thereby promoting peace, stability, development and prosperity in the region.

The Pakistan delegation included Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Minister of Information and Broadcasting Ataullah Tarar, Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi and Dr. Yusuf Junaid, Ambassador of Pakistan to Turkiye.

Later, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan hosted a banquet to honor Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the accompanying delegation.
