Israeli forces continued to bomb Gaza, killing at least 25 Palestinians since dawn, including 11 people burned to death in Khan Younis.
Hamas called for a wave of global protests, strikes and sit-ins this weekend, urging continued mobilization until the Israeli attack on Gaza ended and the siege canceled.
“We value global movements to support Gaza and oppose Zionist aggression,” the group said. The group urged people in the Arab world, as well as in Asia, America and the West to step up their actions.
It praised the ongoing demonstrations as a “rejection of the war of genocide” to the Palestinians committed against Israel.
Hamas also supports Islamic institutions named on Saturday, April 26, a day of extensive action in stores and shopping centers throughout the Muslim world.
It said that such action represents “an expression of solidarity with our people and of our right to freedom and independence.”
Philippe Lazzarini, the UN Commissioner for the Palestine Refugee, issued a clear warning as Gaza endured 50 days of siege by Israeli forces, calling the blockade “intentional and artificial.”
“Gaza has become a land of despair,” Lazzarini said on X, warning that more than 2 million people, mainly women and children, are being subject to shared punishment.
Important aid, including nearly 3,000 UNRWB supplies, was trapped outside Gaza and could not access to stripped of rotten or used up food and medicines, UN officials said.
He said the “hollowing condemnation” must now act, calling for an immediate end to the siege, return to a ceasefire and release of prisoners.
“Hunger is spreading,” he added. “Humanitarian aid is being used as a bargaining chip – a weapon of war.”
