At least 38 martyred, 102 injured in US air strikes on Yemen

Houthied Media reported that at least 38 people were targeting Yemen’s air strikes on the Ras Isa oil port in at least one of the deadliest attacks by U.S. forces on the country.

Al Masirah TV said Thursday’s strike also invoked attacks from the country’s Hodeidah health office.

The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said the air strikes were intended to cut funds and resources to Husses.

A video shared by Al Masirah TV on social media was shared on social media in the early hours of Friday, showing a massive explosion point in the night sky, spanning the body of water identified as the port of Ras Isa. The video then jumps to a close-up clip of rubble and then places it in front of a graphic image of a dead civilian.

“The initial video of the aggressive crimes in the United States targeted the Ras Isa oil port, causing injuries to many martyrs and dozens of port workers and employees,” the post’s title said in Arabic.

Other videos shared by Al Masirah on X show similar scenes of destruction and interviews with workers in ports suffering severe burns.

The U.S. attack is the deadliest since U.S. President Donald Trump took office in January. Houthi officials said that in March, two-day attacks in the United States killed more than 50 people.

Under the UN Development Plan, RAS ISA has an oil pipeline and port, which is “critical and irreplaceable infrastructure” in Yemen.

About 70% and 80% of Yemen’s imports pass through the ports of Ras Isa, Hodeidah and Salif.

An Al Masirah TV correspondent said that members of the Civil Defense Forces and Yemen Red Crescent have been sent to the scene to provide medical assistance and put out the fire.

Houthi official Mohammed Nasser Al-Atifi told the news media that “the crimes of the American enemy” will not stop the Yemeni people from supporting Gaza, but will “enhance their unwaveringness and resilience.”

The Israeli military said it intercepted missiles launched in Yemen just hours after the devastating U.S. attack.

Since November 2023, Hushis has reportedly launched more than 100 attacks on ships they say are linked to Israel, which they say is a response to Israel’s war on Gaza.
