Hamas says its approach to Gaza ceasefire talks is ‘responsible and positive’

According to Egypt’s Ahram online newspaper, the Hamas delegation in Cairo is in talks about the end of Israel’s war on Gaza and the opening of border crossings for humanitarian aid.

Hamas also said it was discussing the Palestinian institutions in the Gaza Strip and the Israeli-occupied West Bank coordinated with the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah and unified the Palestinian institutions.

Israeli newspaper Haaretz said Egypt and Qatar are coordinating with the United States and are proposing a new ceasefire proposal to ensure progress in hostage deals is accompanied by ongoing negotiations to end the war to end the war.

Israeli newspapers reported that Egypt advised Hamas to remove its offensive weapons under Egyptian supervision to provide security assurance for Israel after any agreement was reached.

Neither Hamas nor Israel have commented on the report so far. Israel resumed military operations in Gaza on March 18 after imposing a full blockade and demanding Hamas accept new conditions.

However, Hamas has maintained a firm stance, demanding that Israel promise to end the war in exchange for the release of more hostages.

“We won’t just accept part of the deal with ‘hostages of food’ and then the massacre will resume. We won’t go bankrupt,” said Mahmoud Mardawi, a senior Hamas official.

Medical sources told reporters that at least 37 Palestinians have been in Gaza since dawn by Israel in Gaza.

Israeli fighter jets attacked Al-Ahli Hospital in the north of Deir El-Balah in the central area and Khan Younis in the south.
