Israeli forces continued to bomb Gaza, killing six Palestinians in a strike in the northern city of Beit Lahiya, the day after killing at least 60 people in the entire enclave attack.
Ahmed Mansour, a journalist, suffered severe burns in Monday’s Israeli attack on a media tent near Khan Younis’s Nasser Hospital in southern Gaza, and he died from wounds, causing huge damage from the attack.
U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday that he hopes the war in Gaza stops when the White House hosts Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Trump said the free hostages held by Hamas are underway, but said ensuring the release of all hostages is a “long process.”
Asked if he would fulfill his promise in the campaign to demand that the president end the war in Gaza, Trump said: “I want to see the war stop, I think the war will stop at some point, and that won’t be too far away in the future.”
“It would be a good thing to have peace forces like the United States in control and possess the Gaza Strip,” Trump said, hinting again that Palestinians from Gaza could be transferred to different countries.
Since October 2023, more than 50,000 Palestinians, most of whom are women and children, have been in Gaza, which is a military attack by Israel.
